Completed it in 5 hours 15 yesterday, blistering heat and look like a tomato today, probably the toughest challenge I've ever done.

Well done Loftboy, I was wondering how you got on, Ditchling Beacon and all. Hope you weren't too cooked to enjoy the last few miles down the hill into Brighton...

A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.

Cheers, I hit the wall just before ditchling, but once at the top I got a second wind and loved the ride in, felt like a champion when I got cheered all along the seafront.

I disagree

Controlling a few Acton & Ealing Whistlers FC games was surely a tougher challenge???

Well done mate.
I bet you're sitting somewhat tenderly in your seat this morning

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Nice one, I'd love to do that but I need a better bike, mine shakes like blender at any speed over 30-35mph.

Well done. The South Downs would feel like Everest by the time you get there.

20 years ago I did the LSA Charity Ride to see us at Oxford United . I'll admit we had to walk the bikes up the hill from Denham to Beaconsfield as it was too dangerous on the A40 with no pavement space. I set myself a target of 5 hours for the 54 miles. Was over the moon to do 4 hours 55. Got to the pub in Oxford to find I'd left my wallet in the support van !!!!!

We won 3-2 and Steve Yates scored a rare goal.

Surprisingly no aches other than stinging sunburn where I was waiting 3 hours for my mate to finish
