Which is why I am reading now that FIFA are viewing the possibility of letting the Russians play.. but not as Russia. Reuters are reporting that this could happen and that FIFA are investigating their options if Russia, who would be allowed to participate in the 2022 Quals, actually made it to the Finals in Qatar. But, as you say, it is more about money than the sport. FIFA don't care about cheating, etc. The money is more important and Russia is a big market. I fully believe that they will find a way to play in the Finals, if they qualify.

Even worse in something like athletics. To lose out on a gold medal because of a doped up Russian...very cruel if you're a clean athlete.
Lots of rumors floating around about the Sifan Hassan who is running stunning times this year but she is not Russian .Ethiopian born now Dutch ,coached by Salazar of course who finally got busted and is out for 4 years .It will be interesting to see how his stable fare without him

football has one of the lowest testing regimes for any professional sport, so I doubt any Russian will have failed a test, because they don't get tested.
