That £700k Smith rumour gaining any purchase at all is frightening - probably a Facebook thing? - I shake my head at some of the credulity on here but that's just another stratosphere of mug entirely. I need to talk to him about it again next time I see him, I just laughed at it on the pod and we talked about it a bit more after so I know where he's got it from (disgruntled).
If Smith is on, say, £17,000 a week at City and we've agreed to swallow that for a season then that wouldn't be a million miles off £700,000, but Fin seemed to be suggesting we were paying his wage and a £700k loan fee which I just cannot imagine being true. | | | |

I'm sure he's a great bloke etc, but I gave up listening to the podcast because I was sick of him talking over everyone else all the time. If he was only irritating half the time, it would be an improvement. |  | | |

I know its conjecture, but realistically speaking you're probably not too far off the mark with that wage Northern, and its a sign of how absolutely barmy modern day football has become that someone who has done absolutely bugger all in the game at any reasonable level, and at that age, is on that sort of money.
