Capello was looking for a fight and a reason to go.
The FA have made a pig's ear of the Terry scenario, this was the only option for them. How can he not be captain but still stay in the squad.
IMHO this is good news for england, drop Terry, Lampard, Downing, Barry, Capello just couldn's be arsed to scout alternatives.
At least Pearce knows the players from the U21 squad, the likes of Wellbeck, Smalling, Sturridge, Jones, etc can get some meaningful experience.

So why didn't Capello step down when Terry was last stripped over the Captaincy due to his affair with Bridge's ex? Or is that OK because he made the decision and not the FA?

Hodgson is an easy target with regards to his liverpool days but if you look at his career as a whole then it's nothing short of superb. | | | |
