Sat in the Dolman Stand surrounded by, shall we say, excitable City fans, who seemed to have a poor grasp of the rules regarding tackling, physical contact and offside to mention just a few. But then I thought perhaps that's what I'm like watching Keith Stroud apart from the use of the 'c' word. I thought we probably did get more than our share of 50:50 decisions. From my position the penalty looked less than nailed on, but the referee was well placed and the complaints from City's defenders weren't that strong and Charlie hammered it. For some reason the City fans didn't seem to want to join in his celebrations, which might have been a tad overdone!

But the real story was how awful Rs were, especially in the first 20 minutes. The goal was an unlucky deflection and Seny made a couple of sharp saves but City could have easily been 4-0 up. Too often Rs start games slowly but they were catatonic here. Teams have learnt that we don't cope well with an aggresive press and later in the game there were moments when Dickie and others could have been caught in possession and a better team would have punished us. When forced to kick long Seny's distribution wasn't great.

There's always space behind our wing backs and Albert, in particular, seemed to have no idea about how to cover and Dickie is vulnerable when attacked directly. Albert's crossing was below par as well, and he was well marshalled by the full back, but he was always willing to provide an outlet.

Although we gradually got into the game was were never playing well or in control. We missed Chair's busyness and clever passing and even when City were down to 10 men they had far too much possession. Fortunately they aren't very good and were lacking in confidence so didn't create any clear cut chances.

I was surprised Luke didn't play further forward as a No10 (in the Ilias' role) and we may have done better with Thomas coming on instead of Dykes after the red card. In fact when are we going to see more of Thomas?

And then... revenge for Nakhi's goal at KPFS. So, probably a bit fortunate but also struggling after the Covid outbreak and with injuries. The journey home was sweet. Stef who kept us going forward and Seny our best players.
