I find this one odd as the referee is taking a lot of flack from pundits when it was the Chelsea players who decided to huddle around him. |

I always find it funny when folk come out with such quips because, if anything, it demonstrates a commendable quality of the English. Rather than waste energy looking back on events like the Roman invasion or Norman conquest with anger, they focus on the wonders left behind (like castles). |

You're talking utter bull, son. I've seen it with my own eyes on several occasions. Try leaving your bubble once in a while to see how the other half live. [Post edited 16 Mar 2:09]

Agree with the second statement, not the first. The UK also has a history of invasion, colonisation and subjugation but it isn't fresh in the memory. The Vikings, Normans and Romans didn't exactly pop to Britain for a holiday. More likely is the English reserve. Stiff upper lip, keep calm and carry on, chin up old bean, don't make a fuss, etc. That would go some way to explaining why St. George's Day isn't massively celebrated by ex-pats abroad. However, in London it almost feels like a crime to be a proud Englishman. Say that you're a proud Brit, that's ok. Say you're a proud Englishman and you're treated to a number of compliments like racist, bigot, neo-Nazi, etc. |

Well done the 12th man! Honourable mention to O'Ghee. |

Twice. With an aggregate score of 7-2. They look very dodgy at the back and bereft of confidence. Any Championship team bringing on Winks and De Cordova- Reid from the bench shouldn't be in this position. [Post edited 15 Mar 15:12]

That's how I saw it. A lack of preparation and positioning rather than raw ability. Hopefully with more games he'll improve these aspects as this season he's effectively been thrown into the deep end to learn his trade. |
 | Forum Reply | Alfie Lloyd first Lincoln goal at 15:03 15 Mar 2026
My thoughts FWIW... 0.48 seconds in - now that's a long throw. Are you watching Mr. Smyth? Alfie's goal - showed good strength and persistence to create the chance, and then composure with the finish. Jack Moylan - "has had a few injuries last couple of years". Perfect, he'll fit right in at QPR. |

Definite potential there but to play regularly in central midfield he has to improve his physicality. A summer in the gym could stand him in good stead for next season. |

I, like many on here, don't like the current regulations but Harvey hasn't broken any rules and is well within his rights to make the switch. If truth be told, at the moment ROI can't afford to be picky and should welcome all the talent it can into it's pool. I hope the boy makes it (as it will mean he's doing good things for QPR) and wish Ireland every success in the upcoming play-offs. |

Having grown up a with a few "plastic paddies" as you put it, I understand and respect your personal stance. However, in this instance, you have to see it from Harvey's perspective. He has zero chance of representing England at senior level but every chance of breaking into the ROI squad if he keeps developing. You too may have had a change of heart had you become a Championship level professional footballer. [Post edited 15 Mar 14:50]

CEO is a different role to DoF but I take the point. Clearly age alone isn't the only criteria required to be hired for C' level roles. A proven track record of success, education, skill, intelligence, wisdom, leadership, dynamism, organisation, work ethic, charm, courage, steel, temperance, etc are all qualities you look for in a candidate, and some of these come with age and experience. I loved Les the player and his legendary status is cemented. However, Les shouldn't have been considered for the role of DoF as he lacks many of the required skills and capabilities. He was appointed to keep the fans quiet. [Post edited 13 Mar 14:19]

Yep. I just hope that the squad finds it within themselves to "bonce back". |
 | Forum Reply | WE WANT NOURRY OUT SAID WE WANT NOURRY OUT at 17:08 12 Mar 2026
As I said when Nourry was appointed, C' level roles aren't typically handed out to inexperienced twenty somethings. The average age of a CEO in the UK is between 53 and 56 for a reason. Those who argued otherwise, hang your heads in shame for ignoring basic common sense. |

I wasn't excited by some of those signings as they weren't what the team actually needed. Moreover, if you sign players with a track record of injury, don't be surprised if they get injured. Availability is the best ability. |

Personally I think we need to be getting something from the next 2 games against Leicester and Portsmouth to build some confidence and maintain the gap to the drop zone. Lose both and it's squeaky bum time. |
 | Forum Reply | So depressed. at 00:10 9 Mar 2026
I think it's too easy and convenient to blame injuries. Many of those who started are first teamers and should do a lot better than they have of late. Losing is one thing, regularly getting beat in 4s and 5s is frankly embarrassing and unacceptable. |
