A fine display from the youngster, I thought. This game would give him a lot of confidence and lower his shoulders if he would me called upon in an cup/league match later in the season.
For once, no need to address his development as "good, but he needs to bulk up". |

Old Frank is to blame for me becoming a QPR-fan. As a boy in the 70s in Norway, english football was the thing. The highlight of the week was Match of the Day on Saturdays. The english football magazines "Shoot" and "Goal" were our favorite read, and inspired us to do a local football magazine/fancine ourselves as 9-14 year olds! And the football collector cards was a huge thing. Your Don Givens avatar was og course one om my favoirite.cards.
My four year older brother was an Arsenal fan - so it started with them for me as well - but I concluded that I should find a club on my own. I chose the club with the coolest name, the coolest strips, the coolest players (Stan Bowles and Dave Thomas were my favorites) and their keeper was even the third choice in the England team! How cool was that? When gentleman Frank Mc made the transfer - the deal was sealed.
Actually, quite a few of my friends became fans as well. I was an Influencer - a long time before the I even knew what that was!
McLintock is to thank for my 50 years of support - but also to blame for the agony all these years. Cheers, Frank! |

Norwegian second tier club Ranheim from Trondheim are this season playing in a hooped jubilee kit as a tribute to their original kit from 1921. The locals quickly named the kit "Sing-Sing" after the famous American prison.
I always thought the back of this model is something we should consider for ours... |
