Referee has a meltdown at the end of the Nantes v PSG game

Tangle of legs between him and Diego Carlos, and the ref falls, then kicks out at the Nantes player.

Ref then gets up and gives a second yellow to Carlos, and sends him off.

And gives a free-kick to PSG from the place he was tripped.

Absolute scenes.

Newspaper report of our last cup win?

Doing some local genealogical research, and an adjacent story in one paper had this report from 2nd October 1897 of our national cup game against Wolverton. (who are ya, who are ya...)

It's a fascinating read, even if some of the language and terminology used by the reporters shows how far society has moved on!!
