Free to qpr home- 1980s programmes
at 08:19 8 Jun 2023

While clearing my mum's old flat, I found a long forgotten, old plastic folder of programmes from the early 1980s. There's about 80 of them, including the cup final. Some are autographed. I'm so glad I stopped buying them, I'd have a roomful by now!
Anyway, does anyone want them? They're at my brother's place in Brighton but can be posted, probably be about £8-10 for postage. DM me if interested

At the end yesterday

Felt a bit sorry for Dunne, Dieng and Dickie. These were the only player that tried to acknowledge the away support and received a very hostile welcome. Dickie was even abused close up as he gave his shirt to someone at the front. The rest of the cowards didn't even cross the half way line.
I know collectively we were a pile of crap but fair play to these players who came forward.

Crikey that was poor. Not sure we made their keeper make a single save. How can a top 6 team have such a poor game against the rock bottom side? So disjointed, so ineffectual. So utterly pathetic. We seemed to coast through the game thinking we're gonna score in a minute, but never hurt them at all.
Brilliant days drinking utterly ruined by crap team's effort. So predictable!

Barnsley game on sky
at 13:47 17 Jan 2022

Why on earth is the kick off so late? We can't even get back to Manchester on the train at this time, so those heading further afield must have no chance. With the way things are going, it would've been an unusually large away following for a change at Barnsley. Now it will be tiny.
What an attractive fixture for a neutral to watch on a Saturday night- those that do watch must be football fanatics.

Lots of grumbles about him recently but we need to learn how to play to his strengths. He came on yesterday and looked pretty sharp, making a couple of runs in between Centre halves but as usual yesterday we just didn't release the ball quickly enough. He won't be offside if ball is played quickly, just like the opposition did.

One positive about covid and shutdowns

Can you imagine what a lean time it has been for ticket touts. Sod all business. Trying to get refunds for the hundreds of tickets they bought up front. Can't imagine they paid tax etc so would've got zero help from government schemes.
Sure they or their like will come out from under rocks when this all ends, but i wonder what new scummy ways they've come up with to steal money by recently

1st half 50/50 we hit post with a header. From there on nothing. Absolutely nothing.
A truly insipid and utterly clueless, guiless pile of compete nonthingless. Huddersfield were shit but good enough to put us to bed. Embarrassing performance from us.

Today -Lumley
at 21:13 14 Dec 2019

Before anyone starts laying into him, there's no way Lumley can be blamed for what happened today. I think a poor throw out( his distribution was iffy today) may have led to pressure and one of the goals today, but he was so badly let down by those in front of him today. Defensively,as a team we were pathetic but Lumley stopped it from being catastrophic. One save in particular to prevent an og in first half was brilliant.
Can't remember a game where we looked so much better than the opposition went so badly wrong. All our usual solid players were woeful, Manning and Eze in particular.
A truly bad day at the office

Just back
at 20:10 2 Feb 2019

I know these 'just back" threads are not so important or illuminating these days, as many of you have watched a live stream. But for any of you who haven't had the displeasure of today's match, what a complete horror show our team put on. It was so abject at times that it was almost unbelievable. Wigan were absolutely average but that's all they needed to be to beat our shower of shame. Clive will not need any marks above 5(but I know he will hand the odd 6 out, maybe to Lumley,Scowen and possibly Luongo) but really there should be some 3s and 4s in his ratings.
The defending for the goals had to be seen to be believed, Eze couldn't make a five yard pass, Wells had a stinker which included missing a one on one because of terrible touch, Freeman sulked and moaned throughout, the referee was pants, Wszolek was anonymous.........
I could list other bits of crap but I can't be arsed, a bit like our team at the moment.
As for Tuesday, we are not favourites and Pompey should be expecting a win if we don't buck our ideas up.
Whatever Mcclaren says ignore him, we were pathetic today.

What an unbelievably poor game that was. 2 teams at the top(ish) end of the table scrabbling around in midfield for 100 minutes. My cat could've played in goal for both sides and the score would've been the same. I don't think we touched the ball in their box and lumley didn't have a save to make in ours - bar the goal.
I know I said this in my Blackburn match report, but this is meant to be entertainment- well today was bloody abysmal.
And I know it's been said elsewhere, but Matt smith as an impact sub is the biggest waste of space in football history, unless he's in the box waiting for a cross. Which there is no point waiting for because we don't do crosses when smith is on the pitch. It's so frustrating, when we keep repeating the same shitty mistakes.
We defended really well today but going forward we were garbage, and that is when loads of our main men had the previous weekend off.
We were worried about the ref, because he's usually pants, but once again, my cat could've refereed today- not one meaningful decision was needed. He only added 3 minutes and I'm not sure we even played that amount.
Just a completely rubbish afternoon, which as always was saved by the company and friendship of fellow qpr supporters and some damn fine beer.
