Kolli is injured and out for a month. RND has to be ‘managed’ due to his previous injury record. Why wait the best part of a week after the Norwich game to let us know these things and why through WLS (which I like)? If we had been told both of these things on Friday afternoon (or even Saturday bloody morning) there would not have been near as much angst about our team selection v Norwich. Or did they feel this might give Norwich a ‘competitive advantage’ so they might beat us 4-1 instead of 3-1. |

Personally I'd play him as a defensive midfielder or sweeper (what happened to sweepers btw?) He is exactly the progressive player we need to advance us 20 yards further up the pitch and allow our mighty midgets to really do damage. Currently there is far too much space between our midfield and our attack, hence the 'direct' approach, which doesn't suit our slower players like Kone or Frey. Get Chair, Saito Dembele on the ball in the final third with forward passing /running from Edwards/Madsen and then our strikers can stay in the box where they are most potent. |

If we are signing a defender in Jan, please let it be Edwards |

They do this already in some of those far off, impossible to get to places - like the Premier League |

Absolutely agree - it’s entirely attitudinal - anything else is just smoke and mirrors. Being going on for years, no amount of managerial or player changes make a difference. In my head the players have a WhatsApp group where they decide before the game if they are going to give it a go or can’t be arsed. There is no other explanation how the whole team can be off song at the same time. One positive for me was that we didn’t score a consolation in the 96th minute - imagine if we had scored two and still lost… |

I did not know about the 3.15 KO, slightly before my time. Always thought HT was 15 mins, but now you say it, ten rings a bell |

Jeepers Mr S. I thought I was weak at Maths. I know times were tougher back then. But they were allowed 15 minutes for half time! |

My own view on this would be in keeping with the ‘grizzly traditional supporter that Clive referred to in today’s (excellent) match report. All I can accurately comment on is what it was like to be a (QPR) fan in the west of Ireland in the ‘70’s. Back in the day, long before the internet, all we fans were concerned about were two things. By far the most important of these was the result at 4.45 (none of that wimp-like ‘time added on’ nonsense) on a Sat evening and occasionally, 9.15 (7.30 KO in those days lads) on a Wednesday night. The second thing was a new signing or departure which could occur just as easily in November as June, depending on how the season was going and was usually done and dusted before we got to hear about it. We were not privy to whether Gerry Francis was available for selection after his back injury until the team was announced 30 minutes before KO. We did not speculate on whether Johnny Reserve (no ‘development’ squad either) was ready for the first team, because we did not know who played for the reserves in the Football Combination. We did not know who was on the board except that Jim Gregory was the main man. I could go on and on, but no need to labour the point In that context; Paul Furlong, top guy, sorry to see him go. But that result and perfomance yesterday REALLY pi$$ed me off. |

For me the weirdest part was starting him last week. That is not normal behavior on how to ease a player back after a long term injury. Usually they come off the bench for the last 20 when the pace has slowed. And he was responsible for both goals which went largely under the radar because we won. I can only imagine JS started him and thought 'well if he comes off after 11 minutes we have our full quota of subs to replace him with'. Whereas if he was the fifth sub with 20 to go and lasted 11 minutes we would have been in big trouble |

Walsh has been out since the end of August. December in a couple of days. Time flies when you're having 'fun' |

This of course, and we'll know in the first five minutes. But I'm feeling optimistic. We will concede from a cross/corner, but Kone will break his barren spell and Chair will bag the winner. |

Is the fact that he hasn't signed a new contract a factor in not starting I wonder? I think there are games when he is more important than Dembele, like when the oppo have tricky wingers and he can give Dunne a dig out at RB. But this might not be such an issue with the mad lad. Love that is last two goals have been headers - took it beautifully last night. |

Consummate professional. |

Nothing to back this up at all, but if the Methodology guy is constantly undermining what you are trying to do, then it could be very challenging to keep going. Furs appears to be a very principled guy and if he felt he wasn’t able to give his all, then he might decide to walk away. Really poor from the club if this is the case |

Goodness it's one thing blaming a three game week AFTER we lose a couple of them but BEFORE the 2nd match and straight AFTER our most exciting win of the season??? |
