Act three – Report
at 19:53:37

We win at Bristol City (with Dykes) and Leicester (with Dykes + Armstrong) and we're now saying the Manager made the right call in ignoring our two best performances in a long time and starting a visibly jaded Frey? Disagree on that one Northern.

Manager has 9 games, needs to keep it simple and work out why we played so well in those games and he chose to change it.

In the photo above Clarke Salter's body language defending the 2nd goal is very telling, probably knows he's physically fragile + not suited to the rigours of Championship football.

Brace for impact, QPR crash at Millwall - Report
at 10:12:21

TacticalR fair point on 1st goal but Clarke Salter was also weak for the 2nd goal, it's in his space and he's too weak and easily taken out by the Millwall player, hence querying (apologies Saffa) why he scores double what Dunne does but has to do better for both goals. Looks good on the ball but weak in contact for me.

Dunne 3 and Clarke Salter 6?

I thought it was Clarke Salter on the sleeping at the back post shift this week, must have been mistaken.

QPR and Bristol City cancel each other out with new autumn fashion lines - Report

Cheers Northern, appreciated

Said in jest...and I know its hard to see the funny side on a wet winters Monday but.....in those photo's......

Is that our Centre Forward beasting Dickie and their other Centre Half in the air...and on his toes anticipating an early pass?

Joking aside, with Cannon and Chair due back and EDB breaking line as you say, I am confident we can get out of this if Marti can learn the players strengths & weaknesses + also learn the Championship quickly.

Chekhov's winter - Awaydays

Northern, we transferred likewise as my mates dad was likely guvnor in The Brackenbury then (and maybe Margaret had retired at same time) still see Tony the Barman round the Bush, hasn't changed at all, must have looked mid-60's in his early 40's, good times.

Great report Northern, brilliant writing as always, seems wrong that we benefit from your 7 year stretch as a southerner in a northern comp, sounds like one of those 'banged up abroad' crime doc's

The Goldhawk now that was a great pub with great characters, even Tony the Barman must have seemed liked a friendly face after a week spent in a freezing pre-fab.

Choose the form of the destructor — Report

ExtratimeR,
Appreciate you're a long-time sufferer (although you saw 67 & 76 vintage sides) and eye-sight might be fading but that was Dickie who Hughill out-wrestled twice,
Regards two open goals, I think SJ missed our best chance but Dunne's first, after a good turn looked an easier finish to me than the 2nd, thats a few chances he had late on when going forward so hopefully one of them lands soon.

Choose the form of the destructor — Report

C'mon TraininVain, having spent £100+ quid to watch Kakay's abysmal position to give Ogbene a free run to the bye-line and watch Dickie offer Hughill his back, forgive me if I'm critical of fans who watch the game highlights and incorrectly draw attention to Dunne under or over-running by millimetres in trying to cover for those two clowns either side of him.

C'mon TraininVain, getting ridiculous

Dunne was criticised on this forum just last week for not being closer to the bye-line to cut-out the cross across the face of the goal for Blackburn's 3rd goal, obviously not anticipating Ossie had gone walk-about,

This week he covers that calamity but hasn't 2nd guessed Dickie running pass his man and being weak as piss,

As I said earlier Baresi + Maldini could choose these two in their current form.

Still let's load up on Dunne as the only man amongst a group of boys. I just don't get our fans.

More chances spurned further QPR's frustration - Report
at 23:04:51

Willock deserved MOTM as even after he played his give + go off Chair, he still had to beat two defenders and find the corner.

Laird is a real boost to the team but went down easily when should have stayed on his feet and had 3 hacks at Ogbene after letting him away, the 3rd of which was a penalty.

Chair takes that easy chance and it's 3 points and the boost the team needed after Tuesday.

Great preview and interesting stat on Willock's ball carrying, testament to Warbs work on his strength & conditioning (boxing I recall) and his ability to run with and protect the ball while playing with his head up!

But she just smiled and turned away — Report

Moses' energy showed what we are lacking on the left now when Wallace plays, especially after the first 45.

Don't like to comment on ratings because as fans we all have our favourites but Dykes created our only 2 real goal scoring chances (for Thomas + Austin) so to earn a 5 and same as Austin for another completely anonymous cameo seems a little harsh.

QPR stop the rot at Luton - Report
at 11:48:23

I was in the BOS worringly lack of 'end product' camp and believe Warburton identified what was holding him back when mentioned late entry to pro-ranks and how always showed the defender his number, being coached now to open his body up and be ready to run at his defender rather than being easily held and pulled back - All credit to Warburton and his team and with further quality coaching could earn the club a 5 fold return on their outlay.

QPR stop the rot at Luton - Report
at 17:18:32

Admittedly huge Eze fan but thought he kept the ball excellently in the 2nd half and controlled the tempo of the game.

Great header won and two touches before his sublime pass for BOS to run on to and key moments when he very cannily held the ball giving our defenders time to move up the pitch.

So many times players at this level cannot pass accurately in front of their runner, causing move to break down or giving defenders time to set. Thought that pass was another example of why he is at a different level to his teamates.

Faces Ilford, so very championship!
Great report, pleased to see Manning contribute so much in open play, makes us a different team, but as you say, has to lose that tendency to switch-off.
Thought Warburton took a risk not replacing either Cameron or Ball on 70 for Amos's fresh legs but it seems he called it right.
Win the next two home games and revert to 3 at the back / wingbacks and we could have a roller-coaster run-in!

Clarke-inspired rally comes too late for QPR against Bristol City - Report
at 23:26:07

The pass was spot on.....as soon as it left his foot we were in trouble as two City players were attacking the space, it was a reckless and totally unnecessary pass, although probably forced by our lack of presence in Centre Midfield for first 30mins
