I will be livid if we allow him to run down the left side, cut in and then try to bend one to the far corner of the goal on his right foot. As far as I can remember this was his only threat.

Was just perusing the Dot.org when a few insults started to get thrown around on one of the threads. Anyway I was trying to work this one out:

"what a errant hedge-born skainsmate you are"

So whilst hedge born is a little left of centre what the hell is "skainsmate"?

Not surprised that they're in the news again resulting from past events. I've supported the Rs for 30 years and had a few experiences when I've been treated as dirt just for being an away supporter. West Midlands is another force that has been shocking down the years.

Having said that things have got better on general since the 90s but there are still incidents albeit fewer and less extreme in my experience.

Season Ticket Help
at 14:07 24 Jun 2015

I've held my season ticket for a long time now but as my eldest is now 5 yrs old I thought it was time to cement his allegiance to the Rs.

My tickets is in a gold area. From the club site I believe that the free U8 tickets are bronze and sliver only.

That leaves me with a choice of either stumping up for an U18 ticket or moving the rest of the family to bronze or silver (that would cause a lot of moaning and I don't fancy taking on the logistics).

Also it looks like the U18 tickets are £169 with loyalty or £209 without. The next issue is that the only seat next to us is a single seat held by a season ticket holder. That persons only been there for a year and the seat has changed hands each year, normally not being taken up by a season ticket holder apart from when we are in the premiership. So assuming that the season ticket holder does not renew I might be able to get it but I guess that will be outside the loyalty window and cost me the £209.

Is my understanding right on all of this?

On the road
at 00:45 2 Jan 2015

Well survival is now about picking up results on the road.
4-4-2 the way to go?

Problem with other formations is that we lack pace to break out. I think we've seen at home we have the physicality to compete with most teams.

We've also seen a lack of pace going forward. Our midfield can't support a single front man. We need the knock downs and support to create.

So the question is should we play our home formation away from home and try to bully teams? We have to offer more up front away from Loftus road. There is no doubt that in the prem' teams don't like a tough team that closes down fast. They all want time on the ball. I like that we have physicality and a few tricky players like Vargas - but we need a formation to compete.

In my opinion we've nothing to loose. Lets try and take the physical pressing game on the road.

Tactics?
at 02:47 3 Dec 2014

Away form - tricky

We seem to have lifted the home performances but away the stats tell it all.

Issues:

1. Being as expansive as we were against the Foxes would not win games against other teams.

2. Sandro - big miss we seemed a lot harder to pass through as a team with him.

3.Barton - if he's going to play i that role either he needs to be creative (% wise he lacks the quality) or defensive, and his ball retention has not been good. He can play but is under performing right now.

4. We just can't keep playing one up front away from home.. The stats tell us we get pounded and can't hold out for 90 mins. We need an outlet away from home and the current system is just not providing it.

5. We've had easier games at home.

Positives:

1. We can score goals if Charlie has support

2. We've stopped being totally embarrassing (although tonight was a step back).

3. Green is in inspired form

4. We've pretty much played strong teams away so far.

It's hard not to be reactionary when the results are poor. Reality is we were poor coming up. Entertainment has been better at home but it's hard work, especially coming after the last two seasons durge. I don't believe a managerial change will help personally.

Big thing though is that I'm struggling for the last couple of years to justify the season ticket. It's not the money so much as the time. I have a young family so time is at a premium for the first time in my life.

Anyway got home late and now wished I hadn't made the journey. Respect to the ones who do all home and aways. I do a handful of aways each season (normally to grounds I haven't been to) but I need more from the team than that.

Argghh just venting but I wish I still loved the Rs. (Perspective i've had my season ticket for 20 yrs). Still it's still the hoops and we've been better at home by a long way recently - who's next? Burnley…. hey if we sneak a win…… and so the hope and agony continues.

admittedly I was listening on the radio but it sounded like we gave a very good account of ourselves which can only do good for the confidence that's been building since Liverpool.

Bit disappointed that it was a penalty decision that beat us but seems like a day to focus on the positives. It seems we have ourselves a team.

i feel strangely calm about all this. Not what I felt against Oldham.

If it doesn't work out Fulham and Brentford will be class next season as away games. evening games would be even better.

On the other hand you always want to win. The only thing I ever worry about is the knock on impact on the debt levels if we don't. Take that out of it and it's all good.
