This is a great thread, no abuse on either side, so it's been interesting reading it.
Immigration is tolerated when a country is financially doing well. Post WW2, we had Windrush to help the country rebuild , but then the backlash during the 1970s and early 80s. Then Eastern European migration in 2001 onwards and more coming from sub India, but the backlash has begun again due to the economic issues since 2010.
Labour and the Tories have got themselves in a mess, a bit like the Dems and GOP in the US did and that led to the rise of Trump.
I'm an old school one nation Conservative with a small 'c', one of Thatchers children of the 80s, but I've lost faith in them.
I'll never vote Reform, but I wouldn't be bothered if they got in. My kids get nothing, yet everyone else does.
I fear for society if the economy does not improve in ghe next 18 months (which it wont), everything feels like a tinder box ready to explode.
And then Labour have reopened the Brexit wounds. |

Lots of former Rs on show today.
For Wealdstone we had Mr Waddock of course and then Sean Adarkwa and Deon Woodman from our DS a few years back.
Southend had Charlie Kendall and Joe Gubbins.
It was quite a good game, just a shame that fitness levels really impacted the quality after 65 minutes. I thought Southend just about deserved it. |

I work in the supply chain for major construction firms and can confirm nothing is being built.
What you're seeing are previous funded projects from years ago. There is very very little in the pipeline which means the economy is grinding to a halt.
I'll be amazed if we are involved in the Car Giant site.
Also, the Dairy Crest site at White City has been brought up on this site a few times over the years and that QPR should have bought it. I worked at Dairy Crest back then and that sale would never have happened. |

Most fun was naming the players on both teams we have seen playing against QPR over the past 5 or 6 years. I think we got to 7 or 8.
Does anyone remember Marc Guehi at Swansea or Semenyo at Bristol City (sure he scored against us)? |

We should go with the infinitygon shape or sometimes known as an apeiragon. A theoretical polygon with infinite sides.
Take that Stoke, Preston and Wall. Shove your 4-3-3 and 3-5-1-1 up your bottoms as nothing beats an infinite shape. |

The Cup final against Brentford last year is a good example of the physicality. All the players looked pretty similar technical wise, but Morgan just looked a level above in terms of body strength.
Whether that was always the case or because he had already played 20 odd first team games is up for debate. Chicken and egg. |

Football is brutal.
Having watched Tuck in a few preseason games, I went to Hampton v Eastleigh in the FA Cup back in September. Jordan Cousins was playing for Eastleigh and the difference between him physically and every other player on the pitch was very surprising. He was a monster.
Wishing all the lads good luck, whether that is if they stay in football or outside.
As an aside, what is it that means some can take that step up from DS to 1st team? So few make it. |

It's like watching a FIFA game. They have name tag graphics on the players and a pitch map in the bottom corner.

Luka Modric.
The Croatia team were pretty average, but he made them tick. Had that uncanny ability, like Ray Wilkins, to always appear to have time on the ball even in a game going at a million miles an hour.
England still don't have a player like him, and neither do we. |

Noury joined Jan 2024. 28 months ago, and 2 full seasons.
We have not blown the Eze money. It has been spent, some good, some bad, but we have saleable assets such as Kone, Burrell, Madsen and even Varane and Morgan.
Our wage expenditure is not massively inflated, it's the reverse.
We are not in an FFP quagmire, nor about to breach. We are close, like every team in the Championship.
Personally I hope Noury succeeds as then QPR will succeed. |

Yeah, because turning an oil tanker is quick. This is 30 years of mismanagement that has to be rectified, yet some expect Noury to turn this around in 18/24 months.

I liked Nardi until the back end of his first season when the opposition realised his inability to move his feet off the goal line.
