Some help please gentlemen
at 12:24 11 Sep 2013

OK, so I've bitten the bullet and I'm taking my 7yr old to his first game at HQ for the Middlesborough game. We've got seats in the Lower Loft in the family area.

So in previous years, my routine has usually consisted of an early meet in The Bush, followed by enough Kronenbourg to kill a small mammal and a bleary journey home at some point in the evening. So clearly my match-day experience is about to change considerably.

For those with younger kids, whats the best pre-match drill to keep them entertained and interested? What time do the players arrive, and where's the best place to get photos/autographs etc? What are the best kid-friendly boozers for a cheeky beer? Any other successful hints and tips to make this an enjoyable experience for me and for him?

New weekly sweepstake...
at 14:25 16 Aug 2013

Guess the "Dave Jones Excuse of the Week"

This week, the mighty Wednesday are away to Leeds, in a lunchtime kick off.

My guess is-

"Passionate local derby, ref got carried away, didn't get the crucial decisions"

Prize each week will be a voucher for a Nandos with Cliveo*

2 year deal at Blackburn.

Hope 'Arry's got some signings lined up, as dont fancy AJ and BZ lasting too long. Again.

Latest to be linked. Some sort of deal to be done with Remy and Townsend also involved?

Parker certainly fits the bill- old, expensive and injury prone!

Anyone know what happened to the pre-season friendly we were due to play at Woking? I'm sure I saw we had another game pencilled in against them, but cant find any reference to it now?

If we got shot of Arry and his legions of assistant managers, we could afford 3 Gus Poyets and a new plumbing system for the ladies loos.

Time to clear the decks Mr Fernandes.

The rule about not having masses of tired, old, expensive resources (just here for the money) should apply to players and management.

Suggestion for the last few games
at 13:34 29 Apr 2013

For those of you brave enough to see out our last few games in the Premiership (and I salute you), I have a suggestion.

Those songs about the old players yesterday were quality. Maybe use these last games just to sing the praises of those who were proud to wear the Hoops or proud to manage them.

We are Rangers, Warnock is our king
Thank you Ian Holloway

I took my 6yr old to his first ever football game yesterday, Woking v Macclesfield in the Conference. Unbelievable game, with Woking going 5-0 up at half time, and Macclesfield bringing it to 5-4 at the final whistle.

QPR connections to note-

Elvis Putnins is now in goal for Woking. And he looked every inch the Conference keeper he now is. Sliced 65.4% of his clearances into the stands, looked shaky on every cross and spilled at least 2 into the feet of a striker.

Bradley Simmonds (on loan from QPR) played the 2nd half. Not entirely his fault, but he was pretty lightweight and got out played and out muscled for 45mins.

Was good to see some "proper" grass roots football and the standard wasnt too bad. A handy warm up for life outside the Premiership.

Real Loftus' guide to keeping calm over Xmas
at 13:46 10 Dec 2012

We're fuked (probably).

If we pick up a handful of points over Xmas, Harry will have done well.

He might be able to work some magic in the transfer window, but with the wages bill of contracted/injured players, dont expect anything other than a couple of loans.

Prepare yourselves for relegation, its highly likely thats where we'll be in May, if not sooner.

Hope we have relegation clauses in the deadwood's contract.

Thats it really. No need for emotional debates, flounces or arguments. Enjoy your festive break with your family, cheer the boys on, meet a few mates, etc. Eat plenty of cheese (obviously).

No spleens need venting on here, just more shots of hot chicks and YouTube clips of banging tunes.

Isnt that right Heather?
