right the world cup starts today, i am sick to my back teeth of seeing scots in kilts, bag pipes and all that . one world cup campaign in a blue moon and what an over kill ?!!
england first foremost and last for me.
we go out, tv goes off. so england scores first in my predictions and it's 1-1 , 1-0 and 2-0 in groups , but if we have to be tactical to avoid mexico next int he mountains then so be it, they have not lost at their altitude ground , wonder why? we have to avoid that as long as we get out of the group, nice. |

already vAr getting hammered, are the new rules being enforced re throw ins? subs?
the world cup starts when rd2 happens, the group stages are a waste of time to get rid of a few teams, little jeopardy and minimal interest.
good luck to those who have gone over, can afford it and hopefully get match tickets . |

oh pink pink pink lily the pink !! i LIKE THE LILAC kit and as long as the home kit is larger hoops rather than several thin ones ( we have been relegated a few times in thinner hoops as i recall) i'm ok.
if i had a choice on away kit i would go for the SILVER/BLACK hoops from the 2000s a modern classic that needs a return. |

i thought sport was not to have govt interference? to be sport for all?
ok, fans being prices out including disabled fans as their areas are very expensive
now blocking a top fifa african ref from the country? i am surprised no outcry from their refs association and nothing from fifa either??
then iran have ticket allocation reduced? this is the land of the free innit?
an extended world cup, 48 teams , a month of footy to get rid of a few teams who shouldnt be there anyway , it should be an alite tournament for the best in the world .
fifa are so bent they would not straighten out in a hurricane. that Qatar world cup was set up for messi to win cos they love him and this world cup 2026 set up for endless tv ads . |

football is now no longer decided on the pitch it is all in the courtrooms, where there is money there are lawyers!
we all wait, and have been for 2 years, the outcome of the man city investigations and the cover up that will be!
chelsea for all their breaches copped a minor 10m fine, nothing to them, strip a league cup take off 15 points, that is a punishment ( they have had many european bans re transfers i think?)
what if now wycombe sue derby cos their delayed point off cost them another championship season and money?
it will open a can of worms . |

on sky sports earlier, members of press chatting about this, one made it out that sterling is a victim of race, ie when he does something it is highlighted more than if a white player did like?
odd, drugs offences are simply drug offences. sterling was special but it went up in his face , he did little at chelsea or arsenal , dropped for england and at 31 is he done?
i hope whatever happens, he is ok, gets any help he needs and should be happy he had a career of medals, caps and lots of cash |

what i dont get is why wasnt arsenals' penalty claim reviewed by var? if it was at the other end it would be given. also psg dived, went down so easy often holding their face or throat from the most minor flick.
it is cheating, but refs are useless .
why have var if it aint used? the ref made a 150m pound decision in favour of psg! oh well the oil barons are happy , costs are up and a new egg cup |

they want players to adapt to new rules in a few weeks, after years of being trained to waste time, steal yards etc why speed up the game in games that will be played in strong heat? players will just find another way to have a break, feign injury etc
FIFA are tossers, corrupt and it still goes on.
i am not happy with UEFA either, the euro league that upset so many, IS HERE renamed and sold as new but still what they wanted, and fans fell for it. |

a team i do not like, rate their ground is a fire trap and as rivals i always thought we were above them, not anymore just another team leaving us in their wake ! we are falling so far behind "like" clubs , palace have 3 trophies in 2 years, we celebrate a youth cup??
what they have done is quite remarkable when you think they marched a few times to save the club from dodgy owners and bankruptcy , all recently and not broke the bank doing it. |

England the never ending pain that it is, the so called Golden generation , bex, scholes etc won nothing , always seemed something wrong , the biggest mistake was beating GERANY 5-1 away, then they realised pressure was on to win the World cup and did all they could to not do so. taking injured players, losing to a 10 man brazil ( cos bex did not make sure ball went out, he jumped up, brazil passed ball and 1-1, mug) now it's they didn;t get on, north v south, club differences and mistrust. club managers feeding that myth.
manager after manager it went on, talent was there, facilities , all the best for no return and every time we looked like we could win, move on, we went defensive, into a shell, even Southgate did it, we romped teams, then tried to hold onto a 1-0 , which is difficult and often we failed.
southgate dumped the so called senior pros and their egos and disgusting WAG culture that was a bonus , he got us to semi finals and finals, development was there but couldn't cross the line.
next up another searing heat world cup, more games, more heat , more tva dn ads, yep, expect endless cola ads, beer ads and music oh yes, live music whoooppee do dah! |

i recall the queue chaos at London stadium in the fa cup and i recall saying to a police sgt "wait til millwall come next season" now we shall see.
the last time they met at old boleyn, it was a mass riot, many stabbed and police had to take millwall fans back to tube as they couldn't get em near ground. i think that was a cup game?
wonder if they just mutually agree to have no away fans? may not stop determined ones having a ruck elsewhere but could stop area near grounds being a war zone!

everton were awful, as said in an earlier post. an average spuds just did it, but BOTH have BOARDROOM strife which unsettles and undermines the club, spurs focus on NFL and events and paying for the billion pound ground
west ham, gold and co have been unpopular, karen brady left many still dislike the move to a ground they don't own and rent,
WHY SHOULD TAX PAYERS COUGH UP FOR THEIR GROUND? That contract needs tearing up and is not like west ham have anywhere else to go . |

it seems the manager/coach is named as the main culprit behind spygate, with saints players talking to PFa/lawyers i wonder if the coach could face actions?
would saints board look to sue him for loss of earnings? etc
it is a mess and thankfully does not involve us ( for once)

i have seen staff spat at, racially abused, hit, myself and i am 6ft and 18 stone have been chased by a madman with knife ( 20 police pepper sprayed him using shields, coshed the lot and no charge as he was care in community !) nearly pushed under moving train, spat at by a gang of yoofs , many times police come but do not want to nick anyone, they say it's usually our fault , staff dislike them and they distrust us it seems imo.
i have had bottles waved in my face , had traffic cones thrown at me and cos you wear the uniform you react you cop it, ask yourself, you get spat at , how do you take it?
i had to leave cos i was literally chasing a fella round station, i'd had enough and he ran away very sharp and i had to think, this is it, time to go. unions can start campaigns but until courts really take it serious , it won't stop. these AT WAR WITH FARE EVADERS tv things drive me nuts |

i retired from TFL after 36 years but one main reason is the constant abuse, threats and being spat at, a mate was threatened with a machete, another had his jaw broken recently for telling someone, peeing outside a station "theres a toilet inside mate" fella turns round and wallop , staff goes down, jaw broke. so many but if staff do anything back we get sacked and could lose pensions ( we pay in, they top up and can withdraw their top up)
kids are feral , most have discount travel but dont use them as it leaves a trace and they want to be gangstas , this incident has not been headline news but the bus driver hitting a thief was??
when staff strike people are angry but a lot of the time, staff strike as an action v the abuse etc |

some say as an argument , it happens in european footy! does that make it right? or just so corrupt there, they all/some do it?
fa now looking at further charges and surely bringing game into disrepute is one biiggy?
FOOTBALL WAS NEVER MEANT FOR COURTS AND LAWYERS , it is becoming the norm.
the rules are there but some just push them to the edges and twist them. |
