LFW Weekend Betting Preview
LFW Weekend Betting Preview
Saturday, 4th Dec 2010 13:34 by LFW Pundits

No QPR this weekend, but the boys have kindly clocked in anyway to cast their weathered eyes across the sporting markets elsewhere.

It’s been a cracking couple of weeks for the LFW betting column with winners left right and centre. With that in mind, and as the lads were good enough to submit copy despite the Hull postponement, we’re having a rare non-QPR column this week to try and boost your Christmas shopping funds still further. Brian was absolutely on fire last week with £135 won on a correct score forecast, and half time full time bet in the QPR Cardiff game. He had Gorkss as the first scorer as well so nearly a giant haul, but a respectable £105 profit for the week all the same. Add that to his £90 win on a correct scorecast against Preston the week before and his profit has now soared up to £196.36 for the season with several bets still live. Brian’s win in the Preston game was Andy’s loss as he had QPR to win to nil, and lost £19 that week. Last week, despite winning £50 on a correct score bet, he again made a £10 loss which plunges him back into the red to the tune of £7.50.

Thanks very much to dermyqpr who posted that I was the man at 15.23 last Saturday. Half an hour later he posted that as Kaspars had scored second his initial reaction and outburst of admiration had been a mistake. The crowd turn quicker than milk in W12.

Of course dermyqpr could have posted later congratulating me on the two that that did pop in that retuned £135 and the advice on Cheryl Gascoigne to be booted out of the jungle first that gave me another £25.

As I sit at my desk on Thursday afternoon looking out over the snow covered lake here in MK my advice is to leave it till late to make your choices as outdoor sports will be cancelled quicker than a Kerry Katona Iceland contract.

The UK snooker championship takes place in Telford and is covered by the BBC. Ronnie O’Sullivan is 11/4 to win the title and his recent form in the Premier league where he brushed aside all comers means he is in form and is worth a punt even at the short price.

The racing this week is on the all weather and keeping it simple and go for Street Power in the 3.40 at Kempton. Finally I will stick with the Premier League my normal 4 selections Finally Two Chelsea fans standing on the edge of a cliff. One is wearing the home strip, the other wearing the away kit. A gust of wind forces them over the edge. Which one hits the deck first?

Who cares? Merry Christmas !!!! For the weekend: £20 Ronnie O’Sullivan to win UK Snooker Championship 11/4

£10 Street Power 3.40 Kempton

£2 trebles £2 acca

Spurs 11/10

Stoke 13/8

Newcastle 9/4

West Ham 7/2

Previously Advised:

£10 Dallas Cowboys to win Superbowl 12-1

£2 Lucky 15 and £2e/w acca

QPR to win Championship at 12/1

Huddersfield to win league 1 at 8/1

Rotherham to win League 2 at 12/1

York to win conference at 12/1

£15 Ashes series to be s draw 5/1

£10 Anderson to be top wicket taker 8/1

Andy Hillman

Well, a weekend of what might have been for me – winning £50 on the QPR to win 2-1 bet, missing out on my Man City bet with Etherington equalising for Stoke with practically the last kick of the game, and high flying Bolton only managing to draw against Blackpool in my accumulator. I also noticed that Brian picked up £75 on his bet for QPR to win 2-1 – I need to up my game!

Speaking of which, did anyone catch my midweek prediction for El Classico? I suggested that the smart money was on a Draw-No-Bet victory for Real Madrid – lucky I don’t do this for a career!

Elsewhere, Birmingham seem very overpriced at 3/1 to beat Spurs at home. I’m not confident enough to back the straight win, but draw-no-bet (quickly becoming my new win-to-nil!) is available at 2/1, which is very tempting indeed, so let’s throw some money at that.

Finally, my accumulator, and a simple four-fold – Arsenal, Chelsea and Cardiff to win, and Sheffield United vs Reading a draw - £10 is worth £88.80.

For the Weekend:

Hull City vs QPR - QPR win to nil - £10 @ 3/1 (William Hill)

Hull City vs QPR – Under 2.5 goals - £10 @ Evens (Betfair)

Taarabt to Score first - £5 @ 7/1 (Paddy Power, 0-0 scoreline refund)

Birmingham vs Spurs – Birmingham win, draw no-bet - £10 @ 2/1 (Boylesports)

Fourfold accumulator – Arsenal, Chelsea, Cardiff to win, Sheffield United vs Reading Draw - £10 @ 7.8 (Betfair)
