Portsmouth Linked With Norris Move

Town skipper David Norris reported to be the subject of a £250,000 offer from fellow Championship strugglers Portsmouth. Norris is one of the 21 players out of contract at the end of the season.

Last week, the former Plymouth man admitted that if his Town future isn't sorted soon, he could talk to other clubs about contracts for next season, something he is allowed to do with less than six months of his current deal remaining.

The 29-year-old said: “I could be out of work in five months’ time so I have to look after myself. I can talk to other clubs if I want and that is a situation that I have to look at.

“Nobody is naïve enough to think that other clubs are not aware of a player's situation and my agent has been taking a few enquiries.”

Alternatively, the Blues could look to cash in on the Peterborough-born midfielder now if he isn't in new manager Paul Jewell's long-term plans.

Norris, who cost Town a fee believed to be in the region of £2 million when he signed from Plymouth in January 2008, was offered a new two-year contract at the end of last year, but despite the ex-Boston and Bolton man stating that he wants to stay with the Blues, a deal is yet to be completed.
