Brown-ed Off....Leeds 0 Derby 2

At least Leeds equalled a club record on a wet Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, they equalled 10 home league defeats in a season, held since 1946/47!

I have not looked up previous record breaking trends on red-cards, but three in as many matches might just be new ground for the stat-men? On this occasion Michael Brown saw red for a clumsy, studs-up challenge on Theo Robinson on 25 minutes.

Even with 11 men, Leeds had struggled to contain a Derby side who started brightly and pushed and probed United's backline in the driving drizzle.

Drizzle had turned into drivel. Leeds only test of Frank Fielding had been a McCormack free-kick and an O'Dea header, most of the action had been in the home penalty box with frantic scramble after frantic scramble.

Derby's opener was anything but a scramble. On 32 minutes Bryson, like many opposing midfielder's this season was given the freedom in the middle of the park to test Lonergan from long-range and a 20-yard screamer whizzed past the former Preston keeper into the top-corner.

Funnily enough, Leeds looked to be more responsive a man down and could have possibily forced an equaliser - McCormack twisted onto a half-chance and brought a stunning save out of Fielding just minutes before the break.

Perceived refereeing injustice by the home crowd, at least stirred the 19,000 or so Leeds fans in a disappointing crowd of around 21,000 into some life. The official seemed oblivious to niggly fouls and gamesmanship from the visitors but penalised and booked Leeds players for similar offences. Neil Warnock later revelaed that official Oliver Langford and "marked Danny Pugh's card" by telling the midfielder in the tunnel he would be keeping an eye on him.

Langford probably watched "The Damned United" also in preperation for his visit to Leeds, whereby Dirty, Filthy Revie's Leeds regularly and systematically kicked the shit out of Cloughies Cute Cuddly Rams zzzzzzzzz

Clough JNR, who last season made his side walk the last 500 yards into Elland Road saw his side secure victory on 66 minutes when his sub Steve Davies converted the rebound from Jeff Hendrick's initial shot.

By then, most of the crowd and it had to be said the men on the pitch were past caring.
