Ryan Hall today joined Leeds United on a three-month loan with the view to a permanent move in January and Leeds fans may catch a glimpse of him tomorrow night at Hillsborough. Meanwhile his and an old boss of Sheffield Wednesday spoke of his regrets at the circumstances of Hall leaving Southend.

Present Roots Hall supremo Paul Sturrock told the Shrimpers website today

“A lot of i’s and t’s have been dotted and crossed since Ryan decided he wanted to move on.
“The way it has been handled has been horrible as he has taken advice that I feel is the wrong advice.
“Anthony Grant walked away properly with his head held high and I would have expected that from Ryan.
“He has rushed to move on for all sorts of reasons, which is why it has turned out this way.
“I don’t hold grudges though as I feel Ryan has been of a great benefit to the football club.
“He doesn’t leave under a cloud I just feel he went about it the wrong way.
“He didn’t listen, he felt other people had the best way out for him, but I’d like to think after 38-years in the game I know how it should be done.
“He is a quality player though so I wish him all the best.”

Hall announced at the start of the season he no longer wished to play the club where he was last season's top scorer with 14 goals.

Having seen a move to Blackpool falter on personal terms, Hall has been training alone and Neil Warnock nipped in for a player he actually released during his time at Crystal Palace.
Hall who can operate on either wing will be eligible to play in tomorrow nights Yorkshire Derby with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, although it seems likely if he is involved he will be on the bench.
