Bolton Wanderers Bid For Ferrie?

Today's Daily Star claims that Bolton have tabled a £1.5m bid for Ferrie Bodde

This could very much be a case of 2+2 equalling five but the tabloid paper claims that Gary Megson has already tabled his bid of £1.5m for the Dutchman who missed much of last season with a knee injury.

Bodde was the subject of much interest last summer - most notably from Derby County - but the Swans managed to hold onto their man who started the season in typical influential style.

Ferrie's knack of controlling the midfield was even more evident during the first three months of the Championship season as the Swans exceeded the expectations of many and were pushing strong for a play off place all season.

That all changed for Bodde when he damaged knee ligaments in the home defeat to Birmingham and was ruled out soon after for the remainder of the season.

He has not played since in a competitive game but that - according to the paper anyway - is not stopping the Premier League club coming in for him with a seven figure bid.

The report in the Daily Star says "BOLTON boss Gary Megson has tabled a £1.5m offer for Swansea midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

"Megson is ready to offer the Dutch Under-23 international a dream move to the Premier League and has lodged a firm bid with the Championship club.

"Bodde, 27, has only recently recovered from a knee ligament injury but has been a long-term target for the Trotters."

It has already been a summer of upheaval for the Swans with Roberto Martinez and most of his backroom staff departing for Wigan whilst last week Burnley bid for Jason Scotland although that bid was rejected.
