Stephen Dobbie admits that he is unsure what the future holds for him as he prepares for his biggest footballing day

Dobbie is the one Swansea City player who did make the play offs this season after his goals helped Blackpool into the play offs and then onwards towards saturday's final showdown with Cardiff City.

But the striker has said that although his name could create Sunday's headlines he does not know where his future lies for next season less than twelve months after making the move to the Liberty Stadium.

“I’ve had texts from a few of the Swansea boys telling me to make sure we beat Cardiff,” he told the Western Mail

“It would complete a crazy season for me – but I still don’t know where I’ll be playing next season.

“I’ve not heard anything from Swansea and I haven’t heard anything from Blackpool about them wanting me to stay or anything like that.

“At the moment I am just concentrating on Saturday’s game and after that I will find out what’s happening.”

Dobbie also told of his sadness at the passing of Besian Idrizaj last weekend and added “It’s terrible news – I’d only spoken to him last Tuesday before we played Forest in the semi-final

“I’d got to know him quite well and I considered him a friend of mine.

“We had a chat and he was fine, so it’s hard to believe that he is not around anymore. He wished me all the best against them and the next thing I heard was he had passed away.

“He was just a young boy – only 22. He’d had a few problems with his heart, but everyone thought he’d got over them.

“I thought he’d got the all-clear, but then he passed away in his sleep.

“It’s so sad for his family and it puts football into perspective.

“It brings everything home to you, especially when you have a family of your own.”
