Jason Scotland has told Ipswich fans there is more to come as he experiences a goal drought

The former Swansea City striker has not scored a goal for five games but as ever does not seem overly worried by the stats trusting in his ability to score rather than worry about reasons why he isn't.

And he believes that the drought will end sooner rather than later and from his point of view a goal against his former club is always good to experience.

“There’s more to come from me!” he told the Green Un.

“I haven’t scored in five (league) games, which in my eyes is a drought.

“Both Tamas (Priskin) and I need to chip in with some goals, because we’ve been playing up front a lot.

“But I’m happy with my form, and it’s not preying on my mind. I just need to put away a couple of chances.

“It was the best time of my career,” admitted Scotland, with reference to Swansea.

“I enjoyed playing there and under manager (Roberto) Martinez. I fitted into his formula, with one striker and two pacey wingers.

“I don’t know whether I’ll celebrate if I score, simply because I haven’t scored for a few games.

“It would be a relief to score, to be fair, so I might not celebrate, but if I was to score a brilliant goal in the top corner, then I might celebrate. So who knows?

“I don’t really regret leaving Swansea, because it was a big stepping stone for me to go into the Premier League with Wigan.

“At that age (30) I had to try and prove myself. It’s a chance I had to take.”
