Brendan Rodgers has hinted that he is looking for two more additions to complete his promotion chasing squad

And the Swansea City manager has not yet given up hope on landing Chelsea defender Patrick Van Aanholt despite interest from Newcastle United and Sampdoria in the defender.

Rodgers remains hopeful that his Stamford Bridge connections could yet seal the player although he continues to look elsewhere for defensive strength.   He has also admitted that he would like another attacking option despite already adding Luke Moore to the team this transfer window.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Rodgers said "We don't have big finances to go out and make a statement, but we will see what comes around

"With Neil Taylor and Garry Monk both missing, I feel there is a need for a defender.

"Jazz Richards has come in and done really well and Daniel Alfei has shown his promise, but we might need one or two other possibilities in that area.

"Luke Moore has shown in the couple of games he has played what he will bring us and we have other options in Stephen Dobbie and Craig Beattie.

"But we'll try to reinforce our attacking options so we can be as strong as possible and have enough on the bench to change a game."
