Plenty of gold but silver in short supply?

Leeds unveiled their latest away kit today, a natty little gold and blue number which looks a bit like an away strip our Rhino cousins dabbled with a few years ago. However given the news that the transfer kitty has dried up, with Brian McDermott operating a "one in, one out" policy rather than rubbish the new shirt lets hope it sells like hot-cakes to bring in some much needed cash.

On the incoming transfer-front, McDermott said: “Am I making any progress? We’ll see what this week brings. I’m saying the same things and saying nothing really. There’s one player I’ve been trying to get for a number of weeks and that hasn’t changed.”

The Leeds manager admitted he is being forced to operate a "one in, one out" policy, so unless a well known brand of energy drinks come to our rescue then in plain and simple terms reading between the lines then Matt Mills will not be coming until somebody leaves!

Ross McCormack meanwhile crudely described on twitter the person who has been putting it about that he has put in a transfer request as "a knob"!

At least we can put behind us that shocking defeat at Walsall on Saturday with the launch of a new kit. Leeds may even wear it for us at Stevenage tomorrow night. Whilst it is fashionable to knock new kits and again, Leeds ignore the traditional yellow away colours, I must admit I have seen far worse away-kits on the market and find myself in the position hoping we sell thousands of them to bring in some transfer booty for McDermott.

Leeds did make a signing today, albeit in the boardroom. Paul Hunt joins us as acting CEO and his CV boasts similar roles at Wigan, Blackburn and Leicester. He has also been acting for us on a consultancy basis of late and effectively takes up the role following Shaun Harvey's demotion earlier this month.
