Back Green and co to keep the sheet clean, until half time at least - betting

Andy Hilman and Owen Goulding are back to cast their eyes across the weekend football coupon and find you some beer money.

Andy Hillman

Another two winners for me last week, both at nearly evens, as Blackpool vs Leicester was an inevitable goal-fest, and QPR managed to win once again despite playing even worse than the previous week. Still disappointed that I haven't managed to nail an accumulator - my midweek one was scuppered by Napoli (top of the table, four wins out of four...) drawing at home with Sassulo (bottom of the table, four defeats out of four, lost 7-0 at home on Sunday...)

NAP of the Week - Liverpool to beat Sunderland @ 7/10

Sunderland may have dismissed everyone's favourite fascist shouty Italian, and they may have won mid-week in the cup, but make no mistakes, they’re dire. Liverpool have wobbled slightly in their last couple of games, including back to back 1-0 defeats, and will miss Coutinho terribly, but with Suarez coming back from his ban and Sturridge scoring six in his last seven, Liverpool could have a field day here.

QPR related bet - Correct HT score 0-0 @ 2/1

Some trends: Middlesbrough have drawn five of their last six; they have not kept a single clean sheet all season; both teams have scored in eight of Boro's nine games, including their last six in a row. QPR may be getting steadily worse, but have kept six clean sheets on the spin in the league; we've won five of our last six games one nil; our last six games have all been 0-0 at half time. So which trend do you fancy picking? Something has to give here, but I'm going to plump for correct half time score 0-0. That way I'm picking a trend to continue, and all other eventualities can still come in.

Aston Villa vs Man City - Man City to win to nil @ 15/8

Shorn of Benteke for the foreseeable future, you have to fear for Villa, and wonder who is going to score the goals. Kozak, his replacement, looks pretty rank in comparison. Villa have lost three of their four home games, and their only win came against Rotherham. Man City have kept five clean sheets in their seven games this season, and are averaging four goals a game at present. For those who are worried about Villa scoring, you can get much better than evens on Man City with a -1 handicap.

Roma vs Bologna - Roma win to Nil @ 7/5

I can draw quite a few parallels between QPR and my second team, Roma. Roma are also sitting at the top of their respective league at the moment, winning five from five, and boasting the only 100% record in Serie A. They've also got the best defensive record in the league, having only conceded on goal all season. Roma win to nil is a better than evens 7/5

Past winners:

NAP of the Week - Forest to beat Huddersfield @ 5/6 — 02/08/13

NAP of the Week - Bordeaux vs Monaco - Monaco to win @ 6/4, 09/08/13

NAP of the week: Monaco to Beat Montpellier @ 4/7, 15/08/13

NAP of the week: Man City to win to nil @ 20/23 — 29/08/13

NAP of the week 2 - Man Utd vs Palace - Utd to win to nil @ 21/20 — 13/09/13

NAP of the week 3 - Sunderland vs Arsenal - Arsenal to win @ 8/11 — 13/09/13

QPR Related bet: QPR vs Birmingham - QPR win @ 3/5 — 13/09/13

Giroud and Sturridge to score anytime double 6/1 — 13/09/13

QPR to win at Yeovil @ 11/13 — 20/09/13

NAP of the week — Blackpool vs Leicester — BTTS @ 7/9 — 20/09/13

The Pro

Another less than convincing display by QPR yielded yet another 1-0 win away from home last week at Yeovil, and Rangers will look to extend their lead at the top of the table as draw specialists Middlesbrough come to Loftus Road.

Boro have drawn five of their last six games and are struggling in mid-table at present. All those games have been score draws however, and in fact every game Boro have played in this season bar one — Charlton away - has resulted in both teams scoring. In this game you can get 5/6 for both teams to score, a price that might appeal to some.

However, as we know, QPR are proving very difficult to break down and haven't conceded in the League since Huddersfield back at the beginning of August. Therefore, I am leaning towards looking for some value in the goalscorer market for Rangers players. It’s not easy to predict the team that will play with a few injury concerns here and there. With Boro missing Rhys Williams through suspension, I expect George Friend to move into a centre half role - a change QPR will look to exploit.

A rested Joey Barton should return to the Rangers line-up and with him going close on a number of occasions this season- especially at home, I think the price of 4/1 anytime for him to open his seasons account looks overpriced and that will be my recommended bet for this game.

Wait for team news before parting with your money of course....Joey Barton to score at any time vs Middlesbrough - 4/1 (William Hill, Paddy Power, Betfred, Skybet)

Benteke to score at any time v Arsenal at 11/4 (Coral/Skybet), 17/08/13

We have been quite poor in recent matches, but yet ended up still winning. It would be very ironic if we finally produce a decent performance, but then end up losing.
