Michael Mancienne is currently enjoying a season long loan at Loftus Road from Chelsea - his second spell with the R's
Michael was one of John Gregory's first signings as manager when he arrived on loan from Chelsea. Initially the deal was only due to run until Christmas but that was soon extended through to the end of the season as Mancienne, and his Chelsea team mate, Jimmy Smith excelled. Gregory brought Michael back to Loftus Road on a season long loan in 2007 and although he has suffered with hamstring injuries during his time with Rangers he has never failed to impress when he has made the first team and many Rangers fans are hoping his move can be made permanent with our new found wealth. A £500k move has been muted.
Mancienne has captained England at Under 17, 18 and 19 level and joined Chelsea as an eight year old boy. He made his debut in the Chelsea reserve side aged 16 and signed professional terms at Stamford Bridge in January 2006. He toured the USA with Chelsea in the summer and was an unused substitute in the Charity Shield.
He started his QPR career at right back where he didn't look anything out of the ordinary but when moved to centre half he responded with three consecutive man of the match awards on this site. This made his lengthy spell at right back even more infuriating considering Rehman and Stewart were occupying his obvious best position and not making a very good job of it.
Michael made 30 appearances for the R's last season and his impressive performances led to him being was voted runner-up in the Supporters' Young Player of the Year category.
