A Clive and Kicking - Podcast
Tuesday, 12th Jan 2016 09:45 by Clive Whittingham
QPR’s prolific youth-team graduate, and FA Cup semi-final goalscorer, Clive Allen is the special guest on this week’s podcast.
Clive was part of the Allen dynasty at QPR, with father Les playing and managing the club and brother Bradley and cousin Martin following him into the first team at later dates.
He scored 83 times in 147 starts and 10 sub appearances for the R’s, including memorable goals at Loftus Road against Crystal Palace, and Highbury against West Brom, as Rangers made it to the 1982 FA Cup final as a Second Division team.
As well as those memories, topics up for discussion in the present day include whether Jamie Mackie should be playing half fit, whether Leroy Fer should be playing at all and why Rangers don’t take the FA Cup more seriously.
It’s a full strength line up this week with host David Fraser joined by the original founding fathers of the podcast Paul Finney, Chris Charles and Chris Mendes in the studio.
