Yahoo mastermind revealed as Rams board member
Yahoo mastermind revealed as Rams board member

The Rams have this morning announced the addition of Canadian entrepreneur Jeff Mallett to the GSE ownership group running the show at Pride Park.

The former President and CEO of Yahoo between 1995-2002 and is also a shareholder for the San Francisco Giants baseball team, who you won’t be interested to know feature a young pitcher named Tim Lincecum who throws like no other human being I’ve ever seen, but that’s beside the point.

The GSE people, led by Andy Appleby and Tom Glick, certainly seem to have a good hold on proceedings and it’s very difficult not to be enthusiastic about the club's future with these people in charge alongside the excellent Adam Pearson. I, along with quite a few others, had a bit of grumble when Giles Barnes departed for London but have since come to the conclusion that Giles stabbed us in the back rather than the need to cut down the playing staff, which is still mammoth in size and presumably, cost.

Hopefully with a boardroom filled with people who know what they’re doing, who have a clear motivation to build the club up into a sellable asset, we can move forwards and upwards under the direction of our Nigel, back to the top flight for good. If the Americans then wish to sell the club for a massive profit then all power to them; at least we know they aren’t lining their own pockets since these people have real money and don’t need to steal ours, unlike some.
