"Gnome Kit" update
Tuesday, 15th Jul 2008 13:16

On the same day we pointed out there was no sign of the new Italian made kit, Leeds United confirmed the current situation.

AGMINE IN UNO!

If you have not already seen pictures of the new kits, they are available at www.leedsunited.com and worried fans desperate to add some Italian designer chic to their summer wardrobe will be able to buy not just one, but THREE designs very soon!

The delay is nothing to do with typical latin manana esque manufacturing attitudes, the new Macron shirts have been ready for six-weeks, but according to leedsunited.com on Thursday there were some "contractual issues" outstanding between the potential sponsor and the club.

They hope to resolve the issue soon and even hinted that an alternative sponsor has not been ruled out. In the meantime, the club will train and play their friendlies in the new-kit unsponsored.

The home kit is white (obviously) but with a squiggly blue band on both arms. The traditional yellow away is slightly more plainer, with the badge moved to the centre of the chest. Leeds presumably will alternate the yellow with a third-choice of dark and light blue stripes, with sadly to me looks more Gillingham than Inter Milan!
