Telfer on trial!

More evidence that Leeds are scratching around in the bargain basement bins!

Paul Telfer is the latest player to link-up with Leeds.

The 36-year-old Edinburgh born midfielder left Bournemouth last December, due to the Cherries' financial woes and has hardly been inundated with offers since.

But Gary Mac obviously knows him well from his Coventry days and Leeds legend Gordon Strachan took the player with him to Southampton and Celtic.

However, if Leeds did make a permanent move for Telfer, it would hardly be the sort of signing to have the fans dancing in the aisles.

Telfer joins a handful of players currently on trial at Elland Road. Canadian pair Marcus Haber and Josh Wagenaar are battling to win a contract at Elland Road.

The YEP report that Swedish midfield man Astrit Ajdarevic has arrived from Liverpool, the 18-year-old has apparently been told he can leave Anfield, so could he tred an illustrious path previously trodden by the likes of Ian Rush and Ken De Mange?

The YEP also report that another Liverpool youngster, Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth has snubbed a trial at Elland Road - but may still move on-loan for a season. Nemeth rightfully has confidence in his own ability, having scored nine times for the  Liverpool reserve side last season. He is currently banging them in for the Hungarian U19's at the European Under-19 Championship.
