Rodgers Set for Swansea

Former Reading and Watford boss Brendan Rodgers is reported to be on the verge of being named the new manager of Swansea City. Rodgers was understood to be amongst Roy Keane’s targets for the new role of Town assistant manager.

Swansea are believed to have offered the 37-year-old the job recently vacated by Paulo Sousa and Rodgers is understood to have accepted the post. The ex-Chelsea reserve coach is expected to be officially named the Swans’ new boss at the weekend.

At the end of last month, Keane said he was no nearer to naming his deputy but would be looking to focus more on finding the right man in the weeks to come.
