Academy manager Sammy Morgan says the addition of new head of youth coaching and coach education Mike Pejic will be a huge benefit to the club. TWTD was first to reveal that Pejic, who has signed a two-year contract, was joining Town late last month.

Morgan told the club site: "I've known Mike since we were players and I can remember playing against him for Northern Ireland when he was in the England side.

"He's got bags of experience, is a highly respected coach and has worked at every level in the game, both in this country and abroad.

"The manager was fully supportive of Mike joining us. The boys are already benefiting from working with him and I'm sure he will prove to be a great asset to youth development at this club over the next two years."

Pejic will take control of Town’s U18 side, who are in action in their annual friendly against Southwold Town on Southwold Common this evening (KO 6.30pm).

Meanwhile, last season’s Portman Road goalposts have been installed at Ipswich Wanderers’ Humber Doucy Lane ground, where the Blues will play some of next season’s reserve games.
