Rams Fan Forecasts For Foxes Trust

Derby County fan Jim Wheeler was asked by the Foxes Trust to give his thoughts on not only this weekend's game but his beloved Rams in general.

Jim was kind enough to allow RamZone to also print the resulting article:

View from the Opposition – Derby County

Name:

 Jim Wheeler

Current home town:

 Coalville

Birthplace:

 Coventry(!)

How long have you supported your team?

Since birth (more than 40 years…)

Favourite thing about your home ground:

The view - no pillars, well designed stadium.

Favourite match played by your team & why:

Derby County 4 – 1 Nottingham Forest Nov 24, 1979. Totally unexpected, total annihilation of Forest.

Favourite player of all time who played for your club:

 Bobby Davison

Your favourite current player in your squad and why?

Kris Commons – has always been a match winner, but now becoming a more rounded player - and staying fit! Miles Addison would be a favourite, but he’s still recovering from long-term injury problems.

Player in your squad we should most fear and why?

Kris Commons, Alberto Bueno & Tomasz Cywka –  a 3-pronged attacking midfield force ripping teams to shreds at present.

Player in our squad you most fear and why?

Stevie Howard – we should NEVER have sold him to you and is always a handful. Matt Fryatt is another player I’ve always liked.

Up and coming prospect in your squad?

Tomasz Cywka is starting to look a real threat and adding more to his game as gets more matches under his belt.

Where do you think you’ll finish this season:

We have a very small squad, so it will depend largely on who we can keep fit. Things are going well at present, but I suspect we will finish just outside the play-offs.

How do you think you’ll do against us?

Our away record is variable, and you seem to be picking up under the new Sven regime, so it could go either way. I suspect Nigel would be happy to come away with a point.
