Darren Sheldrake from Surrey is this week's match official and with little known about him, we could rely on TVOS to come up with a profile for him.
Messageboard regular ManchesterDale will be
re-checking his records when he sees that first-year referee Darren
Sheldrake is the man in the middle at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday. The Surrey-based official has had a fairly quiet start to the season, with his four games producing just nine yellow cards.
Looking at Soccerbase also tells us he showed just three red cards in Blue Square Premier League matches over the past two seasons, so the statistics would suggest Darren isn’t an official to flash cards around willy-nilly!
Otherwise, there isn’t much information to be gleaned about Mr Sheldrake, but following incorrect (and subsequently overturned) red cards at Northampton for Gary Jones (February 2004) and Darryl Burgess (October 2004), there will probably be plenty for us to talk about on Saturday night.
