Sky Sources Trying To Serve Saints An Incorrect Remy-dy.

According to Sky Sources (so take it with a pinch of salt), Saints are to battle Everton and Marseille to the signing of Chelsea Striker Loic Remy. Arron Sanders takes a look.

The Chelsea striker who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, is set to leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular first team football.

Sky sources incorrectly reported Saints to be in talk with Atletico Madrid over Luciano Vietto last week, And I get the impression they could be wide of the mark again.

Remy has had a bad run with Injuries since he left Newcastle United a few seasons ago, and at the age of 30 would not fit the usual criteria for a saints signing.

On top of this with Mauricio Pellegrino set to deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation it seems, you would imagine the 4 strikers currently on the books are more than enough to compete for 1 place.

With these 2 things in mind it is hard for me to see the club being in the mark for another Striker, unless a player was to depart the club.

We could yet see Sam Gallagher head out on loan again, or even Shane Long make way should the right offer for him come in from an interested club.

What do you think Should Sky be checking up on their sources? Or could you see Saints make a play for Loic Remy?
