Kyle Walker - Peters To Extend Loan

According to the latest media reports Kyle Walker- Peters is ready to extend his loan at St Mary's until the season is completed.

There has been much talk of whether those out on loan would return to their parent clubs or stay with their loan teams for the final games of the 2019/20 season.

From a Saints perspective Cedric could return and play, as could the like of Fraser Forster and Mo Elyounoussi with the Scottish Premier League season now declared over, as long as they could be fitted into the Premier League squad that allows for 25 named players plus any qualifying home grown youngsters.

But one man who looks like he will be extending his loan spell is right back Kyle Walker- Peters, who now looks to have burned a few bridges at White Hart Lane after recent comments in the media.

Certainly Spurs fans don't seem to have been overly impressed by the player when he has turned out for Spurs and at 23 he has barely played first team football, in the Premier League for the North London Club he has only managed 9 starts plus 3 as sub, you would have expected him to have made a few cup appearances, but they only add another 9+ 3 sub appearances and that is perhaps the most damning figure given the number of cup games Spurs will have played since KWP's debut in August 2017.

Saints fans wondered why he got so little game time when he initially arrived at the club, starting only one game plus another couple as an unused sub, but it is now being reported that he arrived with a hamstring injury and wasn't fully fit.

The Daily Echo is reporting that Saints have agreed with Spurs that Walker-Peters can now stay till the end of the season and that the full back is keen to do so knowing that his options are limited and needing to try and play his way to a move somewhere.

Fro this perspective Saints have not got anything to lose, so this looks a likely scenario, although whether it will lead to a permanent move is another matter.
