The 18 year old is extremely highly rated and looks set to join Rochdale on loan according to Chris Fitzgerald.
The promising centre back has made three appearances for Brighton this season, one in the EFL Trophy for the U21 side and two in the EDL Cup against Portsmouth and Preston in which he kept two clean sheets.
Roberts made his Brighton debut last season in the EFL Cup and scored Brighton's only goal of the game in the defeat to Aston Villa aged just 17.
He has also represented England 19 times at under 18 and under 17 level.
Interest has been high this summer for Roberts with speculation linking him with Leeds United among other clubs.
