Rochdale have today confirmed the loan signing of highly-rated defender Ben Nelson from Premier League side Leicester City.
Aged 18, the centre back joins on a season-long loan from the Foxes and makes the move to Spotland on the back of two fine seasons with his parent club where he picked up the Academy Player of the Season award in 2020/2021.
Despite not yet featuring for Leicester's first team, he has been involved with the matchday squad in a handful of Premier League and Europa League fixtures thus far.
Having previous been involved with Scotland's youth set-up, he has won four England U18 caps this year, making his debut against Denmark in March before playing against Croatia, Wales and Austria earlier this summer.
