Retained/Released List Announced

Rochdale’s released list has now been published with not as many names on it as we may have expected.

So, first of all, the released players:

Aidy White

Don’t think anyone is surprised at this, many may have even forgot about him but despite his ability, he’s spent the best part of 2-years on the treatment table. He was injury prone before Robbie Stockdale signed him so to even be given a 2-year deal has to be questioned but. White made 32 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Toumani Diagouraga

Tomani joined last summer having been released by Morecambe and many thought he still had enough in him to have a big impact despite his advancing years but the 35-year-old never really got the fans on his side. He made 37 appearances in all competitions.

Rhys Bennett

Rhys re-joined Rochdale at the end of January on a free transfer having been unattached since last summer. He only signed a deal until the end of the season and only managed 5 games for the club before picking up an injury that would keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Jordan Scanlon

Jordan came through the ranks at Dale but never made an first team appearance. He had spells on loan at Ashton and Ramsbottom this season and did well at Rammy, scoring 5 goals in 12 games but finds himself on the released list as well

As predicted, some players had options in their contract, including Abraham Odoh and Ian Henderson and along with back-up keeper Brad Kelly have all had these options triggered and will remain with Dale for next season.

Contracts have been offered to:

Liam Kelly
Jimmy Keohane
Sam Graham
Danny Lloyd

These players have been told that should they wish to stay, it would have to be on reduced terms.

All other players remain under contract but a number of them have been told they have been placed on the transfer list and are free to leave.

All the 2nd Year Scolars have been released.
