AS Monaco have been speaking to Saints a lot lately it seems, firstly there was the transfer of Salisu between the two clubs and now the middle man has been cut out and Monaco have slammed a bid of 25 million euros firmly on the table.
According to SportWitness
the man that Monaco want is Kamaldeen Sulemana who only arrived at St Mary's back in January from Rennes and now Monaco want to take him back to Ligue 1.
This is around the figure that Saints paid for the player who managed 18 games for Saints, scoring twice, both in a dead rubber game on the final day of the season against Liverpool and also just the one assist.
Since the return after the summer break Sulemana has yet to feature in a game of any sort and the club have been very quiet as to the reason why, there is no mention of injury or for that matter an attitude problem, but it is strange that he should be so invisible.
Whatever the reason, it seems Monaco are keen to do business and have opened negotiations directly with Saints and to their credit are not trying to hold us for ransom, their starting bid is as mentioned exactly what we paid for him, they are not trying to get him for a cut price and I would imagine that Saints won't haggle too much for a player whose value would have hardly increased that much after his performances in most of his 18 games.
