Refwatch: Rochdale v Chesterfield

Dale’s first Tuesday night home game of the season against Chesterfield will be refereed by MICHAEL BARLOW.

The Bolton-based official is in his second full season as a National List official, having been promoted to the list midway through the 2021/22 campaign.

His first appointment at this level was Solihull Moors v Dover and after refereeing six National League games in what remained of that season, he took charge of 18 fifth tier fixtures last term, including two involving Chesterfield.

This season has seen Mr Barlow oversee four matches to date, in which he has shown 17 yellow cards.

In common with other National League referees, Michael also referees in Premier League 2, with his most recent appointment being Everton U21s 4-0 home loss to Brighton U21s.

A Dale connection in that game is that Everton U21 are managed by our former prolific striker, Paul Tait.
