Dale’s first-ever game against Maidenhead United on Saturday will be refereed by RUEBYN RICARDO.
The Leicester-based official was promoted to the National League list last season, with his first game in the middle being Aldershot v York.
He later refereed Buxton v Merthyr in the FA Cup first round and was appointed to Crewe v Swindon in League Two at the end of last term as a development game.
Aged 25-years-old at the time, Ruebyn became the youngest-ever referee from the black community to take charge of a Football League game.
His position among the development group of officials has continued this season with Barnsley v Grimsby in the Papa John’s Trophy, in addition to four National League fixtures before Tuesday, when he was due at Barnet v AFC Fylde.
Those five games saw Mr Ricardo produce 11 yellow cards and one red.
