In what is quite the surprise given the news this week, Dale have signed Blackpool defender Dan Sassi on a months loan.
The 20-year-old centre back came through the youth ranks at Stoke City before joining Premier League Burnley in 2020.
Sassi has been a regular in the U18's and U21's where he was made captain but he left Turf Moor and joined Blackpool for an undisclosed fee earlier this month.
The defender will be hoping to make his full professional debut while he's here but with Dale already having Ethan Ebanks-Landell, George Nevett, Kyle Ferguson and Max Taylor, it will be interesting to see where Sassi fits in Jim McNulty's plans.
