Rochdale AFC have completed the signing of Ed Francis from Exeter City on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
A former Manchester City academy captain, Francis made his senior breakthrough abroad with Almere City, before returning to England with Wolves.
He went on to gain valuable EFL and non-league experience with Harrogate Town and Notts County, scoring his first senior goal with Harrogate and playing a key role in Notts County’s promotion-winning campaign.
His most influential spell came at Gateshead, where he made 50+ appearances, captained the side, and lifted the FA Trophy at Wembley. That form earned him a move to Exeter City, where he went on to make over 60 appearances, contributing goals and assists from midfield in League One.
