tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 1053870 viewsbatman

Not for us, but for Bury.
i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto
BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged
only Wednesday this week.
looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

If a points deduction is incurred does it have to apply to the season it is 'awarded' or can it be retrospective? As in if happens after next weekend will they start 2019/20 season with a negative points as well as bank balance or could they be deducted from this season's tally even though it would be over?

James its a murky world one with no consistency applied by the EFL / FA as they have no balls and its an old boys club.

To answer your question I am sure we are past the cut off point so any points deduction would be next season 19/20.

I have said for years administration should result in a 2 division relegation penalty ie IF the gigglers go into Admin after an undeserved cheated promotion they start the following season in the conference.

Should they balls the on field unjust promotion up and remain in league 2 they should start the following season in Conference North.

Admin is just basically the lowest of low ways of writing off millions of pounds worth of debts we next to zero consequence.

Remember in this 5/6 years of bURY cheating the system they knocked us out of the FA cup in round 1 and we cannot put a figure on how much that cost us as a football club.

If they get this undeserved promotion how do you feel if you are a fan of the team that finished 4th?.

Despite a murky world and old boys club, what is really hard for bury here is that the former empire of Stewart Day is not going to be unpicked quickly by Mederco's administrators.

There are some really big creditors that his Mederco empire owed (which the Bury Times reported this as £27m) makes the demand of bury for part of that money only part of wider scheme inconsequential.

That £3.2m mortgage from Stewart Day's empire into bury fc and its terms is the key problem - and if you can't pay a mortgage then the secured asset (Gigg Lane) gets repossessed. The creditors owed £27m by Mederco will push for realisation to get that £3.2m back somehow and someway.

And before that there are the trading creditors most notably HMRC who want settling by the end of May.

The longer term effect for bury is the non-playing effect of actually having a club and a ground to play on in August 2019.

If I draw parallels with the Stockport team that beat us three times in 2007/08 with better players, albeit ones they couldn't have afforded bury would do well to still be in Tier 6 in five years time. Stockport still haven't fully recovered from their April 2009 administration 10 years on.

My reading of bury's plight is that the numbers owed are many multiples of what Stockport had.

The football authorities are and have some huge headaches coming.

bury might gain automatic promotion today - and be extinct in 18 days time.

Unlikely they'll get promoted today - match postponed due to waterlogged pitch.

Far more eloquent than anything I could have offered!!

well written RAFCBLUE and a sobering thought ( or should be ) for all the gigglers.

A draw would have done them today; so one point in the next week and they'll be the weakest team in League One next season....

Tranmere refused to send any advance tickets to Bury to sell. Imagine having that low a reputation in the footballing world that other clubs don’t even trust you to pay them money they’re owed.

Canny from Tranmere, with the only waterlogged pitch in the Football League today and who now have two games this week to try and get to 78 points - which might be enough to secure 3rd given the last round of fixtures.

The current state of play:

bury - 77 points - 2 to play (Tranmere away, Port Vale home)
Mansfield - 76 points - 1 to play (MK Dons away)
MK Dons - 76 points - 1 to play (Mansfield home)
Forest Green - 73 points - 1 to play (Exeter home)
Tranmere - 72 points - 2 to play (bury home, Crawley away)

Tranmere are currently 8/1 for a top three finish which given Mansfield and MK Dons both can't get to 78 gives a fair bit of value IF they can beat bury on Tuesday night.

Perhaps bury could lump the £180k income that they know they have on Tranmere at 8/1!

If they won the bet would they blow it though trying to get cash towards that shiny new stadium.

So Bury are now pretty much odds on now to go up, with a squad full of players they can’t afford.

What an absolute disgrace of a club, hearing their fans lauding on Radio Manc last night was the final nail for me.

What a disgusting, immoral bunch of reprobates.

No humility.

No class.

I would be embarrassed to celebrate what is likely to be the least deserved promotion in lg2 history.

The contrast to this morning's request from that Radio Manchester phone in is staggering.

3,000 people give £1,000 per person and that £3m will "see us through the Summer."

I hope the bury fans going to Tranmere take in a big deep breath as they leave Prenton Park as to what, quite possibly, will be their last ever football league away game.

They deserve to go bust.

I really hope that they don’t do it, much as I respect those trying to help. It’s like putting a sticking plaster on a gunshot wound. bURY should go down the route of lifetime season tickets for day 5k or 10 year ones for 2.5k would probably raise them few million off those who want to help.

Obviously it screws income in the future, but it’s unlikely they will have one anyway.

It is incomprehensible that these well-meaning individuals, with a mutual love of their football club, are willing to throw their money down a drain. £3 million won't come close to resolving the situation, otherwise SD2 would have done so already.

The financial hole is undoubtedly far, far deeper than they think. This is a situation beyond their help. For their sakes, I hope common sense prevails. There are enough people out of pocket already without volunteers throwing good money at it.
