Andy Cannon came on up front at FCUM in preseason. Might as well use it as a chance to see who can play where and hope we avoid injuries. Read this before: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37916091 It's been said before, but what an absolute joke this new format has been. Clubs have to ensure it never happens again and it goes back to being a proper competition again. It wasn't always that popular before, but it certainly wasn't the farce it's now become. Oldham's twitter was openly ridiculing the empty seats and the ages of the Blackburn players last night. Such contempt is to be encouraged and the sooner all the U23/u21/academy/championship/Premier league sides go out, the better.

Thompson played up front in the last match in this comp. Then Hilly subbed him for Davies and we turned defeat into victory, this being the biggest factor in that turnaround, and I'm no JT basher.

Wonder if he's on the bench? He was the one player tonight could have been a real opportunity for.

That's where I'd play RNL. One of the few positives I can give him is that he likes to shoot.
