I'll go for not much more than 3000 turning up that's total attendance.
Tuesday night match alot of floating fans bought half season tickets. Kids might not be there as it's a night match. Port Vale haven't been playing well.
Hope I'm wrong.
Edit: Now I've read the article I think if what I've said comes to fruition then next year's season tickets won't be as cheap as some people expect. [Post edited 21 Feb 2017 18:17]

It's really good that we are including away fans too because there used to be similar offers at some clubs which didn't always include them as part of some "local promotion" rule in the past. I'm sure all associated with Port Vale will be congratulating Dale on such an idea, they might even try it themselves... maybe the next time we are due to lose 1-0 there?

I read it as they're looking at doing something with prices next season and a game like Tuesday would be a test of numbers who may take it up. ie. A "worst case scenario".
If x amount more turn up on a Tuesday night in February then it might give a good indication around the lower end of numbers they'd look at turning up if the price was right.
Could be wrong of course, but now the club has gone public saying they're looking at a ST initiative which would be "quite attractive" then it's right to have some expectations that it'll be exactly that. Otherwise they could have just done the £1 entry as a one off promotion and left it as that. Nobody expects massive numbers next week, but it should bring in a few extra fans who will hopefully then associate Dale with good value for money. | |
