You can add the last 12 months losses to that as well (2016/17). Truly amazing that they are still trading. I'm sure that Company Law forbids a company from trading whilst insolvent. How DO they keep dodging the bullets.?

With relegation an outside possibility (though I hope they gain a point at Southend) there won't be much left at the bottom of the barrel.

Just read Day's opening statement from their recently filed accounts (slow day in work)

This part stands out to me: "From a financial viewpoint, the 2014/2015 season saw our losses peak at £3m. It was important that from this moment we started to work our way down to the break even point and make us more financially sustainable. Our losses in the 2015/2016 season reduced to £2.5m and we continue our efforts to improve our business efficiency and increase our revenues to reduce this further."

How on earth can he try and spin the reduction of losses from £3m to £2.5m in an effort to make that look like 'improvement'. That is a phenominal amount of money and is likely to be the same in 2016/17.

Also, the focus is all on increased revenues and not a reduction of costs. How on earth can they expect to generate an extra £2.5m in revenues at this level per year. Obviously we all know this, but he truly is a ridiculous man. Bury fans should be seriously, seriously worried with that attitude.

Accounts say:

Cash at bank: £8,490.

Creditors falling due within one year - £4,024,281!

Just a £4m working capital shortall then to take into this season....

If the results go against them on Sunday (which is a long shot with Port Vale and Gillingham below them) and they go down administration might beckon sooner rather than later.

Last year, I think the balance sheet was propped up by a huge revaluatuion of the Gigg Lane Ground.

This year, it looks like £3 million worth of loans have been converted to share capital in order to keep the balance sheet in credit.

The accounts have been issued with a going concern warning that they cannot guarantee that they will be operating in 12 months from the date the audit report is signed.

They have improved slightly in that they have a full year of reliable accounting records but they were starting from an extremely low baseline.

Someone should copy in the Bury Times.

Stewie will have a page to himself when he starts saying how it presents a false picture and tells of the big bright future.

When asked in a radio interview to comment on the accounts, his voice came across a little muffled on air. Recent footage from the interview revealed why.

Mainly because he doesn't entertain the prima donna mentality.

If you work/play for Hill you have a decent chance of a good career.

Hogan is a good example of that.

That really is fascinating, never would have thought it would be so much for a club like Burton. Surely now the Bury fans are realising that Day is leading the club into the abyss.

And it's why if Hill should ever leave, his former assistant's application, were it to be made, shouldn't be considered.

That opening line stands out like a sore thumb. However, the bulk of the attention down the road seems to be on the management of the team rather than the management of the club, pinning all blame there.

Agreed on that one - Flicker is getting all the blame and Day is hardly getting a mention.Yet I bet they are all happy for Clarke to continue the spending next season! The club is a huge model of how NOT to run a poorly supported lower league club.

For Day, it is only a game. A game of Monopoly. Aim to build houses, take a chance, raid the community chest and avoid going to Jail.
They will probably end up with the Waterworks.

noticeable thing about the reported burton figures is how commercial activities bring in far more than gate receipts and make a. substantial contribution to covering the wage bill. That has to be something we aspire to now the stadium ownership has been resolved.
