Hill's reflection on Tenerife 19:31 - Jul 14 with 8781 viewsBallastBoy

Keith seems a bit reflective and down on his interview about the week in Tenerife. Spoke about up to 6 players who are just not developing and consistently on the wrong side of competent (ok I made that bit up). Said he will look to meet with them and possible move these players on, as they are constantly involved in losing games, not putting the work in etc...

I have no clue who they could be... but suspect there may be surprises in this list... maybe Cannon?

On the subject of Mcnulty is there a bigger picture. For example when he has made mistakes were there other mistakes made which led to him being exposed? Are we expecting too much from League 1 players? If they didn't make mistakes or made very few chances are they wouldn't be playing in league 1

Jim is a steady League One player, most of the time. You cannot fault his effort and commitment and for much of a game he will play well. Then he will make a calamitous error which costs points. This happens about half a dozen times a season.

Problems usually occur when he tries to overplay.

When you start watching Dale, you'll see. Watch McGahey and watch whoever is playing as his partner.

Who would you like to be considered as replacements or players to compete for the centre back position? Are there any under utilised championship or even premier league players Dale could pick up on loan?

Jimbo......Big Jim: Look no further than the last game of the season v Bradford City.

The art of faffing around as we concede the opener from our own throw in and Big Jim is caught in possession......remember at that time Dale STILL had an outside chance of promotion to Championship

Search Rochdale v Bradford City (04/30/2017 the Yankee date)

Good, experienced centre halves are in demand and command a large wage, making them out of our wage budget. Even Lancashire, who was not great got a pay rise from Shrewsbury. Eastham who was decent got an even bigger pay rise from Fleetwood.

At Dale it is not always who do we want, but what can we afford.

I'm sure Hill knows who he wants, if anyone.
