Bolton Wanderers have been served a winding up order again by HMRC.....
Never ends....

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

There are major financial problems at Bolton which have been bubbling under the surface for a long time. Directors not speaking to each other, disagreements about funding, who owns what, who owes what - it's a real mess and it's catching up with them.

I think a 'winding-up order' has serious implications and is a real threat to the existence of the club, who could now be forced into liquidation.

Good .its about time the F.L had the balls to come down hard on these teams,
until they do there will be no level playing field.

Bolton's promotion is up there with Stockport's. Fleetwood have been cheated out of a place in the Chanpionship.

And Bury's.

HMRC are doing the job that the FL should have done. BWFC are insolvent. If they cannot satisfy the Court otherwise, they are liable to being closed down and their assets liquidated.

In any case it is an offence under the Companies Act to continue trading whilst insolvent, which has personal implications for club officials.

Sooner or later, the Courts are going to lose patience with clubs taking the pi$$ out of HMRC and the sword will fall. It is long overdue.

BWFC need to pray they aren't the example that will be set.

Absolutely. The strong rumour last season was that they'd risked everything on promotion and if they hadn't made it then they'd really be in dire straits.

I wonder how many fans regret moaning about mid table mediocrity in the premier league under Big Sam.

There are extremely serous implications. However, HMRC must prove that the BWFC do not have the means to settle the debt .For Court Fees etc of under £ 2000 HMRC are forcing BWFC's hand. Pay up or else. In previous times a winding up order was better known as compulsory liquidation.

Hardly mid table mediocrity, he got them into the UEFA Cup from being a First Division side. He left because the chairman wouldn't give him the money to spend to push for a CL place. Therefore feeling he couldn't take them any further than he already had, which was very true.

There was an excellent interview on Radio Lancashire, when Big Sam was at Blackburn Rovers.
He spilled the beans big time on the Bolton chairman, and how the club was run.

No doubt some clever so and so will find the link
